UrOwnStorage, located at 3500 Martens Street, Franklin Park, IL 60131, operates a marketplace platform that connects people and businesses with available storage space, including garages, warehouses, rooms, units, lots, and other usable storage areas. This Privacy Policy explains how UrOwnStorage collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information when you use our website, mobile application, marketplace, payment tools, messaging systems, and related services.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, list storage space, reserve storage space, communicate with another user, make or receive payments, submit identification, contact support, or otherwise use UrOwnStorage.

This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, billing information, payment details, profile information, uploaded photographs, listing descriptions, storage location information, insurance-related information, messages sent through the platform, reviews, ratings, government identification where required, and any other information you choose to provide.

We may also collect information automatically, including IP address, device information, browser type, app usage, location-related data, log files, pages viewed, dates and times of access, referral links, and interactions with UrOwnStorage services.

Host & Space User Roles:For Hosts, we may collect information about the storage space, including address, size, access details, photographs, availability, pricing, security features, and rules for use. For Space Users, we may collect reservation details, stored item descriptions, communications, payment records, and dispute-related information.

2. How Do We Process Your Information?

We process personal information to operate, maintain, and improve UrOwnStorage. This includes creating accounts, verifying users, publishing storage listings, matching Hosts with Space Users, processing reservations and payments, enabling communication, sending notifications, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, enforcing our Terms and Conditions, complying with legal obligations, improving customer service, and protecting the safety of users and property.

We may also use information for analytics, business operations, marketing communications, service updates, legal compliance, insurance support, security monitoring, and platform improvement.

3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

We may share information when needed to provide the UrOwnStorage service. For example, we may share limited profile, listing, reservation, address, access, and contact information between Hosts and Space Users after a booking or when necessary to complete a transaction.

We may also share information with payment processors, identity verification providers, insurance partners, background-check providers where applicable, cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, legal advisors, professional consultants, law enforcement, regulators, courts, and other service providers that help us operate the platform.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect UrOwnStorage, to prevent fraud or abuse, to investigate safety concerns, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

UrOwnStorage does not sell personal information in the traditional sense of exchanging it for money. However, some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly, including certain advertising or analytics activities.

4. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?

Yes. UrOwnStorage may operate globally. Your information may be processed, stored, or transferred in the United States and other countries where UrOwnStorage, its service providers, payment processors, hosting providers, or business partners operate.

By using UrOwnStorage, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain accounts, complete transactions, comply with legal, tax, accounting, insurance, fraud-prevention, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect UrOwnStorage.

When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely retain it as required or permitted by law.

7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no website, app, storage system, internet transmission, or electronic communication is completely secure. UrOwnStorage cannot guarantee absolute security of any information submitted through the platform.

Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure and immediately notifying UrOwnStorage of any suspected unauthorized access.

8. Do We Collect Information From Minors?

UrOwnStorage is not intended for children or minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor without proper consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of personal information, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, objection to processing, and information about how your data is used or shared.

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is not yet a universal standard for how companies should respond to these signals, UrOwnStorage does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

You may still control cookies and tracking technologies through your browser, device, and privacy settings.

11. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

Yes. Residents of certain U.S. states may have specific privacy rights under applicable state privacy laws.
